It suits people who want a zoned hybrid without paying for latex or extra zoning. It's also the lowest-risk way to try the brand if you've never slept on an Origin before. Which? has tested the Hybrid; its full verdict sits behind a subscription, but the public listing shows a pocket-sprung, bed-in-a-box design with a 15-year guarantee.

Origin Hybrid Pro

The Hybrid Pro steps up to seven zones, adds a latex layer and deepens the mattress to 31cm. Origin's current listing describes a removable, machine-washable cover and a medium-plush feel.

Independent testers have described it differently. Sleep Hero's review praised its cooling, edge support and motion isolation but found it firm for many side sleepers, and said the cover wasn't removable on the version it tested. Product revisions are common in this market, so check the current product page and use the trial to judge the feel yourself.

Origin LumbarCloud

The LumbarCloud is the flagship. Origin lists it at 35cm deep, with 11 layers, nine lumbar-support zones and up to 8,700 micro-springs. Expert Reviews rated its lower-back support highly for back sleepers, while warning that some people may find the support too firm and that it costs more than many rival hybrids.

At 35cm it's a deep mattress. Before you buy, check that your fitted sheets have deep enough pockets and that the extra height works with your bed frame and headboard.

How much does an Origin mattress cost?

Origin's prices move with its promotions, so the numbers below are a snapshot of what its UK product pages showed when we checked in September 2026. Use them to compare the models against each other, not as a promise of what you'll pay.

At the same time, the product pages advertised free pillows (and a free protector with the LumbarCloud) plus an extra 10% applied automatically at checkout. Origin's FAQ quoted slightly different "from" prices, which shows how quickly figures change. Always read the price in your basket, not the one in an advert.

The jump from the Hybrid Pro to the LumbarCloud is large: in a double, the LumbarCloud cost roughly twice as much. That's why it's worth being honest about whether you need the extra lumbar zoning or would be just as happy with the mid-range model.

How does the Origin 200-night trial work?

The trial is Origin's biggest selling point, because it replaces the chance to try the bed in a shop. According to Origin's trial page:

• The 200 nights start on the day the mattress is delivered, not the day you order.
• To return it, you email the support team with your order number, a photo of the mattress and your reason.
• Origin arranges free collection from your home, and you don't need to fit the mattress back in its box.
• Refunds go back to your original payment method, and Origin says they take 7 to 14 days to process after collection.
• The mattress must not be extensively damaged, though normal use is fine.
• Returned mattresses are recycled, donated or refurbished rather than resold as new, according to Origin.

Is clearance stock covered by the trial?

This is where you need to be careful. Origin's trial page says clearance mattresses are excluded. However, some individual clearance listings we checked still mention a 200-night trial and a 15-year warranty. When two official pages disagree, don't gamble. Email Origin before you buy and get written confirmation of the trial terms for that exact product, then keep the reply with your order confirmation.

Clearance listings also note that stock may be an older design (for example, the previous Hybrid cover without the removable top layer) and that clearance items are excluded from free-gift offers. Factor those points in when you compare prices.

Your legal rights sit alongside the trial

The trial is a voluntary promise from Origin. Separately, UK consumer law gives you a 14-day cooling-off period for most goods bought online, starting the day after delivery, as Citizens Advice explains. If a mattress arrives faulty or not as described, you also have rights under the Consumer Rights Act regardless of the trial. Origin's FAQ says every mattress carries a 15-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. It covers manufacturing flaws and structural defects, such as indentations deeper than one inch. It doesn't cover the gradual softening that happens to all mattresses, a change in your comfort preference, or damage from misuse, stains or an unsuitable base.

• Expansion: the mattress starts expanding within minutes of unboxing but takes 48 to 72 hours to reach full shape. Don't judge the feel on night one.

Let's take a double Hybrid Pro at the £599 list price we saw in September 2026, with the extra 10% applied automatically at checkout.

• 10% of £599 is £59.90, so you'd pay £539.10.
• Origin valued the two free pillows at £196. That doesn't mean they're worth £196 to you. If you'd otherwise buy two decent pillows for, say, £60, the realistic value of the bundle to you is about £60.
• If you don't need the old mattress taken away, skip the £54 disposal add-on. If you do, compare it with your council's bulky waste fee first.
